When will the disappearing pets during cutscenes be fixed?
Since the beginning of the game, my ranger's pet had already disappeared during several cutscenes (especially in the Nolani and Dragon's Lair missions), but I was especially disappointed when it disappeared during the cutscenes of the final Hell's Precipice mission. There I was, in the final and most important battle of my Guild Wars career, and my trusted pet, who had been at my side in all missions and quests couldn't be there! Very disappointing! And completely disabling my 100% Beast Master ranger.
Well, let's hope that this issue of disappearing pets will be solved at some time in the future... |

Have you filed a bug report about this matter?
I hope they fix this problem as well. not that I'm a Beast Master Ranger, but I know that there are people playing who have their pets with them throughout the PvE game. I'd say it's a bit unfair for them to have their pets dissapear in a cutscene. Question - if the cutscene is in the middle of a mission and the pet dissapears, does it appear after the cutscene? Or is it completely gone? Because if it's gone.. thats something that really needs to be fixed seeing as it means any ranger who's going mainly BM skills will be completely gimped as they won't have their pet anymore.... and thus will only hvae theiur bow with probably no bow skills on their skill bar... |

Yes, this has been happening since release, and has already been reported to ANet many times. And yes, this happens during cutscenes in the middle of a mission. After that, you don't see your pet anymore, and whenever you use a pet skill, you get the message "your pet is out of range".
I have lost my pet in the following cutscenes: -Nolani at the cutscene where you meet up with Rurik -Dragon's Lair at the cutscenes after beating the 2nd and 4th boss. Each time it came back one cutscene later. -Hell's Precipice at the cutscene before you fight the final bosses. Here I never got my pet back in subsequent cutscenes. And yes, a Beast Master ranger is almost completely useless after this. Last edited by BrokenSymmetry; Jul 24, 2005 at 01:24 AM // 01:24.. |

im pretty sure it will be fixed in a later update, just make sure you let them know through bug reports. The biggest problem i have in cutscenes is where the party is standing in a line and my char is facing backwards... If it ever happens again ill take a screenshot and post in screen section for everybody to see. Its hilarious.

Here's a couple of questions..
- does your pet dissapear in the same cutscenes everytime? - Do you watch through the cutscenes? Maybe the 'bug' is associated with watching them, and so next time you go through one of the cutscenes where your pet would dissapear try skipping instead. - Do you skip all cutscenes? Maybe if your skipping all cutscenes then that could be causing the bug to happen. Or maybe the bug happens on the cutscenes you do skip? - Have you tried moving the location where the Charm Animal skill sits? Maybe the bug has to do with the location of the charm Animal skill is? So have you tried moving it around to another location? - What pet? Have you experienced this bug with any other type of pet? If you've only ever used the one pet, maybe try getting another pet and seeing if that causes the bug? Maybe it's a specific pet-related bug? - Character? Have you played other characters who were either Ranger/? or ?/Ranger and had this problem? Maybe you could try and see as maybe your current Ranger is bugged? what you need to do when making a bug report is to ensure to provide a whole lot of info: - The mission/quest your doing - your profession combination - Your level - The time you started the mission (your time) - The time when the cutscene started (your time) - Your TimeZone - What skills you had on your skillbar, and where they are (ie located on 1,2,3,etc) - What pet you had, it's name & level - whether you skipped or watched the cutscene, and if in a party how many wanted to skip the cutscene - If in a party, list out who you were with, their classes, level's and if with other Rangers what type of pets they had, the pets names & pet's level's. - Any other information you think is needed/relevant. The more information they receieve, the better they are able to try and find the problem. Now I don't know just what has been reported before, but if you haven't tried or considered anything I have suggested... I'd suggest doing so and reporting all relevant information back to ANet. I'm sure the bug/issue will get fixed sometime, but the more detailed reports they get from ppl having these bugs the better they can detirmine what the bug really is. |
